b . Nottingham Food & Drink Festival - 29 June - 10 July
- Nottingham Food and Drink Festival returns with new ingredients
The Nottingham Food and Drink Festival is back for 2011, with organiser We Are Nottingham announcing an exciting new format for this year’s event.
Extended from four days to 12, the Festival runs from Wednesday 29 June until Sunday 10 July. Venues across the city will be showcasing the best that Nottingham has to offer with a series of seasonal and speciality Festival menus under four price categories: under £10, £11-£15, £16-£25 and over £25.
A full programme of special events will also be unveiled shortly that will see visitors being offered unique food and drink experiences at bars and restaurants. Amongst the events confirmed so far is a blind cocktail tasting session at The Living Room, tea tasting at Lee Rosy’s and a Mad Hatter’s tea party at Homemade.
In addition, fans of local produce will be able to indulge themselves at a special Food and Drink Festival market, taking place in Old Market Square from Thursday 30 June to Sunday 3 July. With in excess of 70 stalls, and including a demonstration area, Festival organisers are promising the largest food and drink market that Nottingham city centre has ever seen.
Commenting on the return of the Festival, We Are Nottingham’s chief executive Sylvia Manser said:
“We’re aiming to create a 12 day celebration of food and drink that gets everyone in the mood for the summer.
“Nottingham has a fantastic selection of big name and independent venues and one of the broadest ranges of cuisines on offer outside of London. It therefore makes complete sense to make the venues the true stars for 2011.
“The Festival is funded by the licensees themselves and they have really embraced the new format with record numbers getting involved. We have over 60 signed up so far, which is a significant increase on previous years.
“We look forward to welcoming foodies from across the region to enjoy the Festival programme, with a few additional surprises thrown into the mix!”

- lunch! - 29-30 September 2011
- For the second consecutive year, Diversified UK’s lunch! food to go trade show has been nominated for “Best Trade Show Exhibition – under 2,000m2” by the Association of Event Organisers (AEO) in its annual Excellence Awards.
The exhibition industry’s equivalent to the Oscars, last year lunch! scooped the 2010 Best UK Trade Show Award after fending off rivals E-Health Media, UBM Live, William Reed Business Media, and Reed Exhibitions for the title. For 2011 the category remains as competitive as ever, with lunch! and the thrice-nominated complementary healthcare show camexpo, which are both organised by Brighton-based Diversified UK, both in the running.
Chris Brazier, event manager of lunch!, was delighted that the show had been re-nominated. He said: “To be shortlisted again after winning this important accolade last year is a testament to the ongoing success of lunch!. This would not be possible without the hard work of the team at Diversified but also significant industry support, innovative exhibitors and outstanding buyers. We share this honour with them.”
Now in its fourth year, lunch! returns to Old Billingsgate, London, on 29-30 September 2011. The event has grown from strength to strength since its inception in 2007 with reports from the show’s organiser that in the first 24 hours of online booking going live, over 500 quality buyers pre-registered at
www.lunchshow.co.uk.
lunch! is free to attend for pre-registered trade visitors. For further information and to register, please visit www.lunchshow.co.uk. -
