Poly-Wood’s elegant outdoor garden and dining furniture may be made from recycled plastic drinks bottles and last for thirty years thus saving landfill but their unique construction means they also cut out the need for maintenance as they do not chip, peel, fade or break.

To really put Poly-Wood’s table and chairs to the test, owner Marcus Palmer has teamed up with landlord Chris Tandy of Poacher’s Restaurant in Thurlaston, Leicestershire, and together they have put four sets of tables and chairs in the restaurant’s outdoor seating area.

“With a footfall of 1000 a week, that’s a lot of people using the tables and chairs,” explains Poly-Wood’s Marcus Palmer. “The chairs will be moved repeatedly and the tables can expect a lot of wear and tear including spillage and hot food plates. Chris and his team will not need to repair, paint or stain the furniture nor move it indoors during winter. The most they will have to do is wipe down the tables, and as the range has a lifespan of 30 years I expect each chair to see approximately half a million bottoms!”
