Recently Harrison Catering Services and The Carphone Warehouse teamed up at Coston Primary School in Ealing for a community project. Over 70 volunteers from The Carphone Warehouse’s head office in Acton took part in painting, gardening and rearranging classroom equipment in order to provide the school with exciting new spaces to teach in.

By lunchtime there were some very hungry people who were treated to a delicious hot lunch of lamb and vegetable curries, tri-coloured rice and fresh vegetables, followed by a giant fruit platter and freshly-baked carrot cake - all of which are regular favourites on Harrison’s menu for Ealing primary schools, including Coston Primary itself.

Staff at The Carphone Warehouse have been enjoying Harrison’s freshly cooked food since 2005, but many of the volunteers were surprised that Harrison were able to provide such a great meal from a primary school kitchen. In fact it proved so popular that most went back for seconds!

Bill Graney, Manager Client Services for Harrison’s schools in The London Borough of Ealing, said, “Many of our Business and Industry clients would be surprised if they saw – and tasted – the quality of food our chef managers are turning out in schools in Ealing. The food these guys are enjoying today is taken directly from our weekly menu cycles, and prepared by the same people. It’s a sign of Harrison’s flexibility and commitment to quality that, whatever the client, we can provide great, freshly cooked food for all circumstances.”

Harrison has provided catering to nearly 60 primary schools in Ealing for over 5 years, and retained the contract following a competitive tender in 2008.
