Taylor UK are pleased to announce the first major prize winner in their online website competition. The prize, a Taylor Model 370 Twin Bowl Slush Machine goes to Mr Andrew Whyte, proprietor of ‘The Mereside Kiosk’, situated right on the water’s edge at The Mere, a local beauty spot in Ellesmere, Shropshire.
The competition was launched on the Taylor UK website in May 2009. It’s a simple online fruit machine, where entrants click to reveal three matching images to win a prize. In early June, whilst searching the Taylor website for a soft ice cream machine, Mr Whyte decided to try his luck - and won!!
“I couldn’t believe my luck. I was on the website looking at the ice-cream making equipment, and thought, ‘why not?’ and gave it a go. My kiosk does a good trade already, selling beverages, snacks, ice creams, (and bird food). Ice creams are currently my best seller, so I think a slush machine will be a great new addition. Apparently, it also does smoothies!”
The Kiosk at Ellesmere has been part of the local landscape since the 1930s, doing exactly what it does today. It’s recently been refurbished as part of a £2 million heritage project funded jointly by the Lottery Fund, Big Lottery Fund, Shropshire Council, Ellesmere Town Council and Advantage West Midlands among others.
The Taylor Slush Machine is just one of a selection of competition prizes that include a Cream Whipper, as well as £2500 vouchers towards a TurboChef Rapid Cook Oven. Now that the first major prize has been claimed, Taylor already has plans to introduce further exciting prizes to the cache.
