Green is for Go Project First green lights new agreement with Green & Cool
With global warming and environmental issues high on everyone’s agenda Green Carbon Dioxide (CO2) refrigeration plant systems are being seen as the best long-term solution for the future. That’s why Project First Group has joined forces with Green & Cool to provide cutting edge low carbon refrigeration and air conditioning systems to the UK market.
In the UK most of the major Supermarket retail chains now have CO2 systems on trial while they evaluate this technology as part of their long-term commitment to reducing their carbon footprint. Conventional refrigeration systems contain hydroflurocarbons (HFCs) which have a Global Warming Potential (GWP) that is a staggering 3800 times greater than CO2. Green & Cool’s refrigeration equipment uses only CO2 as its cooling fluid and includes the latest Transcritical compressor technology to withstand pressures in excess of 60 Bar at standstill. This means the system does not have to discharge CO2 gas to prevent over pressure when it is switched off. The new equipment can also be designed to the client’s specific needs including compressor and heat exchanger preference and the inclusion of heat recovery systems. The efficient nature of CO2 as a refrigerant combined with the added benefit of its free heating capabilities (when a heat recovery system is added) generally results in an overall energy saving of between 10 and 15 per cent.
The Project First Group is undertaking an extensive training programme for its engineers and designers to familiarise them with the features of this technology and to ensure the products are installed and maintained in a correct and safe manner. Meanwhile, it has undertaken an extensive marketing campaign to ensure the full potential of these products is highlighted to its customers.
Project First Group and Green and Cool are delighted that through their combined expertise they can offer customers a greener solution for the future.
